PHENOMENA 2008: ABOUT THE FOUNDER
About 16 years ago I left my native country of Zimbabwe with hopes of becoming a designer and creating a better life for my family and I. From the tender age of six until seventeen, I lived in a harsh boarding school system that made me realize the importance of love in a child's life. In Zimbabwe I experienced first hand the negative effects of poverty and a broken home, I now realize how truly blessed I was just to have food on my plate, running water and good health.
In 2006, inspired by my love for fashion, my life story and my passion to help the less fortunate, I created
my clothing line Bless By Bless Couture - Fashion For Life. An inspirational clothing line based on Hope, Faith and Love that donates 10% of it's profits to charity. I had found my purpose, my reason for waking up every morning. Today I create fashion in the name of love, I use my talent to make a difference, to help the less fortunate, especially children.
In the philanthropic spirit of Bless By Bless Couture I created Phenomena 2008, the first of an annual charity ball to raise money for children around the world. The benefiting charities for Phenomena 2008 are Boston based Jimmy Fund Council and Mother of Peace Aids Orphanage in Zimbabwe.
"Phenomena is about giving hope, faith and love to a few of the millions of children who desperately need it in our world today. For it is in giving, that we ourselves can fully receive and appreciate how fortunate we are. I am excited for what promises to be one of the year's most exciting events."
